Olympia woman robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night

Staff writerMarch 27, 2014

Olympia police are investigating a robbery at gunpoint of a woman as she was walking about 10 p.m. Wednesday night in the area of 9th Avenue and Boundary Street.

No one was hurt during the armed robbery, OPD spokeswoman Laura Wohl said. Police did not apprehend a suspect, despite reports of police cars swarming downtown after the robbery. Wohl would not say what, exactly was stolen from the woman during the robbery.

A K9 track was initiated by Olympia police seeking the suspect Wednesday night after he fled the scene on foot, but he could not be located, Olympia Police Sgt. Aaron Jelcick said Thursday.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information that can assist police should call the Olympia Police Department's detectives division at 753-8300.
