North Thurston senior Ryan Mets struck out a career-high 18 batters, tossing a no-hitter in the process in the Rams’ 9-0 seven-inning victory over Foss during Monday’s 3A Narrows League baseball tilt.

Mets fanned seven Foss batters at least twice en route to the no-hitter. Of his 99 pitches thrown, he had 65 strikes.

The sixth inning is when the Rams (3-2) did most of their damage, putting up five runs. Hunter Nelson had three RBI on four hits, getting singles in the first, second, fourth and sixth innings.

Monday’s other highlights:

BASEBALL

In a rematch of last May’s 2A state title game, Tumwater topped W.F. West, 4-2, as the T-Birds remain undefeated in 2A Evergreen Conference play. Luke Hare went 3-for-3 with three RBI and Clayton Boze was 2-for-3, as the T-Birds scored all four of their runs over the first two innings.

River Ridge scored runs over the final four innings for a 9-4 2A EvCo win over Aberdeen behind two hits apiece from Elijah Camacho, Brayden Anderson, and Alex Bache.

Brandon Olson struck out nine Mount Tahoma batters over five innings in Timberline’s 10-0 victory to remain unbeaten at 6-0.

BOYS SOCCER

Thadeus Lasko had seven saves in Timberline’s 2-0 shutout of North Thurston in 3A Narrows League soccer. With the game scoreless at halftime, Ryan Erikson and Jesus Ramos scored the Blazers’ second-half goals in the 63rd and 77th minutes, respectively.

FASTPITCH

Jocelyn Glasgo went 4-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI and also got the win in the circle in Tumwater’s 16-6 win over Capital in 2A Evergreen Conference fastpitch. Makayla Glasgo’s two hits were for extra bases (double, triple), as the T-Birds bounded out 15 hits. 

GIRLS TENNIS

Sidney Smith and Mallory Woolf swept their Nos. 1 and 2 singles matches to help lead North Thurston to a 5-0 nonleague victory over Yelm.

Baylee Yost and Sooyoun Park's 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles lifted Capital to a 5-1 2A EvCo win over Black Hills.
