South Sound stormwater stewards sought

OlympianApril 3, 2014

Volunteers are needed to work with South Sound residents to keep stormwater runoff from reaching local waterways and Puget Sound.

Classes and fieldwork to learn the many aspects of on-site stormwater management will turn volunteers into "Stormwater Stewards," through training offered by the Thurston County Stormwater Utility, Stream Team and Washington State University Extension.

Registration for the evening and weekend classes is in April. The classes and field work with landscape professionals will take place from May through mid-July. Two information sessions will occur April 14.

For more information and an application contact, or contact WSU Extension at or 360-867-2167.
