ADVENTURE: Mountaineers series urges people to explore

The Mountaineers will kick off the 2014 BeWild Speaker and Film Series with a program April 17 as Ben Stookesberry presents “Be passionate with outdoor aspirations.”

The four-part series is meant to inspire participants to explore, discover and conserve the wild spaces of the Northwest and beyond.

Stookesberry is an Eddie Bauer kayak guide and was the 2007 National Geographic adventurer of the year. He will present his latest film “Walled In.” Stookesberry will discuss his inspirations and explorations throughout his expedition kayaking career.

The other programs will be “Expedition Denali” on May 16, “Tami Asars” on June 20 and “Crown of the Continent” on July 24.

A four-part series subscription is $60 for nonmembers, $48 for Mountaineers members and $38 for students (student ID required at the door). A single ticket is $18. A limited number of tickets will be released two weeks before the event if availabile. For tickets, go to bewild2014.eventbrite.com.
