22nd LD lawmakers to talk about 2014 session Tuesday in Lacey

OlympianApril 7, 2014

The three Democratic lawmakers representing Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater plan to talk about the 2014 legislative session at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Lacey. Sen. Karen Fraser, Rep. Sam Hunt and Rep. Chris Reykdal are speaking to the Democratic Study Group at Panorama retirement community in Lacey.

The event is in the Panorama Auditorium, 1670 Circle Loop SE. The event is open to the public regardless of political affiliation.

Fraser is caucus chairwoman of the Senate Democratic Caucus, which lost control of the chamber in 2013 when two members left to form a Majority Coalition Caucus with Republicans. Hunt chairs the committee that oversees state government operations and elections, and Reykdal is vice chairman of the House Labor and Workforce Development Committee and also serves on the Finance and Higher Education committees.

Hunt and Reykdal both told The Olympian editorial board they were frustrated that the Democratic House could not get the Republican-steered Senate to go along with top priorities - including a commitment to revenues for K-12 schools and approval of a transportation revenue package.

For more information about the talk, call Bob Walker at Panorama at 360-438-5973.
