Josh Christoffer’s single in the seventh inning drove in Leif Hansen and Randy Jones for the tying and winning runs as Olympia beat Central Kitsap, 6-5, in the 4A Narrows League. Christoffer finished 4-for-4, and Josh Allen went 2-for-3.
Ryan Mets struck out 13 batters and went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs in North Thurston’s 10-0 win over Wilson in the 3A Narrows League.
In fastpitch, eight North Thurston players drove in runs — led by Annalise Dahmen’s two RBIs on two hits — in a 13-0 nonleague victory over Stadium. Aayliah Kautz and Saralynn Campbell added three hits apiece.
Olympia pounded out 18 hits — including a 4-for-4 performance by freshman Glynne Saelid — in a 12-2 win over South Kitsap in the 4A Narrows League. Winning pitcher Maddy Stensby, a junior, added three hits and three RBIs.
Saint Martin’s junior Zach Carter’s second complete-game performance last week against Northwest Nazarene earned him Great Northwest Athletic Conference baseball pitcher of the week honors. Carter, a Camas native, improved to 5-2 with a six-hitter in a 2-1 Saints victory Thursday. He allowed one run, struck out a season-high six and walked none. Carter’s 3.34 ERA over 59 innings is fifth-best in the GNAC. The Saints (9-24, 6-13 GNAC) host Pacific Lutheran in a nonleague game at 3 p.m. Tuesday.mwochnick@ theolympian.com
