Beach cleanup set

OlympianApril 9, 2014

Volunteers are needed for a grassroots effort to clean up state coastal beaches April 19.

Beaches slated for cleanup include multiple state parks, miles of wilderness coastline within the Olympic National park and tribal reservations.

Volunteers will work on some 40 beaches from the Columbia River north to Neah Bay, removing household plastics, lost fishing gear and other manmade debris that washes up on beaches.

To sign up for their favorite beach, volunteers should visit the Washington CoastSavers website at www.coastsavers.org/washington.
