The State Capital Museum, housed in the historic Lord Mansion in the South Capitol neighborhood, has closed for renovations, including new carpet and an updated kitchen.

The museum, operated by the Washington State Historical Society, will not be available for public visits or school field trips, and the mansion will not be available for rentals. However, the public programs in the adjacent Coach House of the mansion will continue without interruption, and the Coach House and museum grounds will still be available for rental.
