Friday’s highlights

Ryan Conner, Tyler Gartner and Benny Kaleiwahea combined for seven of Timberline’s 13 hits in a 14-3, five-inning win over Foss in 3A Narrows League baseball. Zach Owens struck out seven Foss batters over four innings pitched to earn the win on the mound.

Aberdeen pitchers held Black Hills to four hits, and the Wolves were unable to capitalize on 10 walks in an 8-5 loss in 2A Evergreen Conference baseball, snapping their five-game winning streak. Tyler Warren’s RBI double fueled a three-run sixth inning by Black Hills.

River Ridge’s Jacob Van Dormolen set down Centralia in order in the seventh inning, including a pair of strikeouts, as the Hawks hung on for a 6-5 win over the Tigers in 2A Evergreen Conference baseball to improve to 3-7.

Capital earned its second victory of the season and snapped W.F. West’s two-game winning streak with a 5-2 victory over the Bearcats, the defending 2A state champions.
