Olympia police respond to armed robbery at Toys R Us

Olympia police are searching for the suspect in an armed robbery that took place Saturday afternoon at Toys R Us.

Police were called at 2:53 p.m. to the store at 1000 Cooper Point Road. According to police, an armed suspect with a mask entered the store, displayed a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of money from cash registers at the service desk.

Police attempted to track the suspect with K-9 units, and an officer at the scene said the suspect had fled toward Capital Mall. Some cash was left behind at the scene and recovered by police, said Sgt. Jim Partin.

The suspect is described as a white male with a slim build who stands about 5 feet 10 inches tall. The suspect is between 24-30 years old, and was wearing a black short-sleeve shirt with blue jeans, police said. No injuries were reported.
