The 2014 edition of the “Washington State Visitors’ Guide” is available online and at newstands. This year’s guide features three covers — Mount Rainier, downtown Seattle and the rolling hills of the Palouse.
The guide highlights the state’s travel options, broken down into 10 regions. It includes regional maps, travel trips, itinerary suggestions and contact information for an array of local businesses and attractions. This year’s guide features water-based adventures and outdoor music festivals, as well as Native American museums, locally made products, birding and more.
There will be 375,000 copies of the 15th annual guide, pushing readership to nearly 1 million people.
You can find an online version at experiencewa.com, the official state tourism website. Travelers can read the guide online and order a free copy through the website. The Washington Tourism Alliance will mail the guide at no charge to addresses in the United States using funding it received from the Legislature.
Copies also can be found at about 2,000 visitor centers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Washington and Vancouver, B.C. The guide also is available for purchase at newsstands and checkout counters at Whole Foods, QFC, Fred Meyer, Barnes & Noble and other retail locations in Washington, Oregon and California. In addition, about 65,000 copies will be mailed to Seattle Met and Portland Monthly magazine subscribers.
Travelers also can access versions of the guide optimized for iPads, android tablets and smartphones. They also will be able to read and order the guide online at stayinwashington.com, the Washington Lodging Association’s consumer travel website.
