Others are humming about west side noise

OlympiaApril 14, 2014

Dale Phillips of Olympia recently asked: “Anyone else hearing a low hum on west side?” The answer is yes, and it is not regulated just to the west side. I live on the south side near the Mission Creek Walking Trail, and every night from around 10 p.m. on I hear the hum — it goes and stops, rises and drops, and is very annoying — almost like a motor. Some mornings when I wake early I can still hear the humming.

I suspect it has something to do with underground electic wires. But I can’t locate the source, so I don’t know where to register a complaint. But I’m thrilled that Dale also hears it (for my sake, not his).

At least it’s not just in my head — others are bothered by it, too.
