Use our jury pool system to form the U.S. Congress

OlympiaApril 22, 2014

The recent Supreme Court Decision of McCutcheon vs FEC pretty much ends the era of representative federal government as envisioned by George Washington. Ordinary working people have lost any real influence with the majority of our federal legislators.

Here’s an alternative to consider. Make the House of Representatives be like jury duty. Everyone 30 years and older in good mental health would be in the pool. Felons would not be included in the pool.

This would provide a true statistical reflection of the population. Assumption: Most regular people are honest and really care about our country. There would be one three-year term in a lifetime. An employer would be required to hold the job of anyone who serves. More details upon request.
