Arts Walk adds spice

The OlympianApril 24, 2014

Olympia celebrates its rich and diverse artistic community this weekend. The semi-annual Arts Walk in the downtown core showcases artists, musicians and arts organizations in a family-friendly and festive atmosphere.

Our region has attracted a large creative community that comes together in the spring and fall to show their work in more than 100 different business locations and to stage impromptu street performances and demonstrations.

Earthbound Productions will stage its Luminary on Friday evening and the iconic Procession of the Species on Saturday afternoon. These events inspire us to consider the significance of the natural world.

The eclectic nature of Olympia artists adds spice to the lives of everyone who takes the time to experience it in a stroll through downtown.

The Olympian is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
