Thier column channels the Paul Ryan playbook

TumwaterApril 28, 2014

The recent opinion piece by Patrick Thier seems to come straight from the playbook of Paul Ryan, that champion of the wealthy. Let’s not help the poor, they don’t deserve it. Let’s help only the rich because they have proved their worth by accruing vast sums of dollars.

The poor don’t ask to be poor. Why do some people want to make things harder for them by keeping them in jobs that pay a peon’s wages?

Nobody can live on minimum wage. People often have to work two or three of these jobs just to stay afloat. Paying them more per hour puts more money in the economy.

The rich hang onto their money or put it in offshore accounts or buy a whole bunch of politicans to look after their interests.
