Hondas, Acuras being targeted by Thurston County car thieves

Car thieves in Thurston County are targeting older-model Hondas and Acuras parked in private driveways, in apartment complexes and outside local businesses.

According to a news release from Thurston County Crime Stoppers, the stolen vehicles are being stripped of parts, which are then resold.

Vehicle owners are strongly encouraged to make sure their car doors are locked, the release states.

Anyone with information about the recent string of car thefts is encouraged to call Thurston County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Callers with information leading to an arrest or charges filed are eligible for up to a $1,000 cash reward.
