Jacob Irwin scored a hat trick, and Gavin Trotter added two more goals helping Tumwater to a 6-0 shutout of Centralia in 2A Evergreen Conference boys soccer to improve to 3-8 in league.

Jesse Gonzales’ goal in the 76th minute broke a 1-1 tie and gave W.F. West a 2-1 win over Black Hills in 2A EvCo boys soccer.

Four players — Kaylee Clarke, Alexa Daniels, Kaylene Glasgo and Alyssa Ubrun — combined for eight of Tumwater’s 10 hits, scoring eight runs over the first two innings, in a 10-0 five-inning win over Black Hills in 2A EvCo fastpitch to remain in second place in the league standings.

Maddy Lincoln’s grand slam was part of a six-run fourth inning in Capital’s 12-6 win over River Ridge in 2A EvCo fastpitch. Taylor Owens and Kaitlin Mastin combined for five hits and five RBI.

Tumwater pounded out 16 hits and scored 14 runs — including a 4-for-5 day for Anthony Correia — for a 14-3 win over Black Hills in 2A EvCo baseball, the T-Birds’ sixth straight victory. Correia, Clayton Boze and Luke Hare each had three RBI.

Zach Smith, Seth Morris and Jacob Johnson each went 2-for-4, as Capital scored five runs over the final two innings for a 7-6 comeback win over River Ridge in 2A EvCo baseball.

Ainsley Winterrowd (6-0, 6-0) and Dana Rivera-Lawson (6-4, 6-2) swept their Nos. 1 and 2 singles matches to help North Thurston to a 4-1 girls tennis win over Lincoln.

Irene Norban’s 3-6, 6-3, 10-4 win at No. 2 singles gave Tenino its only set win in a 4-1 loss to Eatonville in nonleague girls tennis.
