Thurston County Auditor’s Office is looking for volunteers to serve on a committee to write a statement against West Thurston Regional Fire Authority’s ballot measure in the primary election.

The fire authority was unable to find people willing to serve on a committee to write a statement against the proposed excess levy of $570,000, according to a news release from the Auditor’s Office. If approved, homeowners in the district would pay an additional 35 cents per $1,000 assessed value. The statement will be published in the county’s Voters’ Pamphlet.

Those interested in it should contact Sandy Baxter at 360-786-5408 or as soon as possible.
