Olympia police arrested a 21-year-old man Thursday night after he allegedly groped a 32-year-old woman as she was walking her dog in Friendly Grove Park on Olympia's east side.

Kristian Samuel's bail was set at $2,500 Friday after Thurston County Superior Court Judge Christine Schaller found probable cause to order him held on suspicion of one count of indecent liberties.

Samuels, of Tenino, has no prior criminal record and has been previously diagnosed with schizophrenia, according to court papers.

According to a police report:

The woman was walking her dog in Friendly Grove Park about 9:10 p.m. Thursday, when the suspect approached her and asked her for a cigarette. The woman later walked to a bench, and the suspect sat down next to her, and groped her. The woman first called her boyfriend, then police.

Police found a man fitting the suspect's description walking away from the park on Friendly Grove Road NE, and placed him under arrest.
