Learn about the new bridge that will go over Salmon Creek on Littlerock Road Southwest during an open house from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Black Hills High School commons, 7741 Littlerock Road SW, Tumwater.

Thurston County Public Works staff members will be at the event to talk about the bridge’s design and construction process.

The bridge, known as the L-4, was first closed in January and then permanently shut down in February, due to scour. A temporary Bailey bridge was installed at the site in March.

Demolition of the old bridge is set to begin in August, and construction of the new one is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year, according to a news release from Thurston County Public Works.
