No treatment, prevention in 6-time DUI sentence

LaceyJune 1, 2014

Shaun Goodman’s DUI sentence seems to be a waste of resources. Based on history, punishment probably won’t make Goodman stop driving while drunk. I saw nothing about him getting treatment. I saw nothing that will protect the rest of us from him the next time he gets drunk. I saw nothing about any device that would prevent him from driving when he is drunk.

Maybe I missed the part where his license to drive was revoked, but probably not having a license won’t mean much to him the next time he’s drunk and wants to drive at 100 miles an hour. Being drunk doesn’t usually contribute to good judgment.
