Lacey: high level of interest creates need for second sign forum

Staff writerJune 9, 2014

The city of Lacey has decided to hold a second public forum and workshop on proposed changes to the city’s sign regulations after the first meeting generated so much interest.

The meeting is set for 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, June 16, at Lacey City Hall, 420 College St. S.E.

Lacey City Council has decided to update its sign ordinance based on changes to the community over the past 15 years, inlcuding economic conditions, new technologies and neighborhood planning.

Those at the meeting will be able to discuss and share their ideas with a sign committee. The committee will then take that public feedback and complete a draft recommended version of the sign regulation updates and pass that on to the Lacey Planning Commission for review.
