UPDATE: As of 2:05 p.m., traffic is now getting by on the right shoulder at the overturned semi on the ramps from I-5 to NB 101, according to the state Department of Transportation.

An overturned semi truck has lost its load at the southbound Interstate 5 exit to U.S. 101.

Traffic is backing up rapidly in both directions, according to the State Patrol. Tow trucks are on their way, but righting the semi will take several trucks, according to Trooper Guy Gill. At that point, the ramp will be closed and traffic will be diverted farther south, Gill said.

The truck’s load of lumber spilled and will need to be cleaned up.

The crash is non-injury, according to Trooper Guy Gill.
