Lacey Community Market opens Saturday

Lacey Community Market is set to open Saturday at Huntamer Park, the first of three Saturdays that the market will be open.

The hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The market features more than 60 booths of produce, flowers, food and crafts.

Here’s what’s also happening on Saturday:

-11 a.m.: Joan Hurst from G&H Pastured Poultry will explain how to raise chickens in an urban environment.

-Noon: Kellie Peterson from Gordon’s Garden Center will show how to create potted plant displays.

-1 p.m.: Mary Corso from Courtyard Antiques will demonstrate how to repurpose old furniture with chalk paint and turn them into new garden pieces.

The market will also have Zumba in the park at 2 p.m.
