LACEY — Two young children were injured this evening when they fell out of a second-story window of their home and fell more than 10 feet onto a concrete patio.
The 5-year-old boy injured his leg and the 3-year-old girl sustained a broken wrist and injuries to her face, Lacey fire Capt. Tim Hulse said.
Lacey paramedics were dispatched to the home on the 4600 block of Durham Street Southeast shortly before 8 p.m.
None of the injuries were considered life-threatening when Lacey paramedics arrived and medics stabilized and transported the patients. The children were conscious and breathing.
They were rushed to Providence St. Peter Hospital for treatment. An hour or so later, the girl was being airlifted to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma.
The toddlers apparently were playing when they fell out the window, Hulse said. The window was open, and the toddlers pushed through the window screen. The parents were home at the time of the accident.
