• Published July 08, 2008

The streets around the office building of the Thurston County Prosecutor are now open, after the Washington State Patrol bomb squad identified a suspicious package left outside as a speaker.

Thurston County Sheriff's Deputies discovered the object on the sidewalk at 24th Way and Evergreen Park Drive around 6:35 a.m. The black, cylindrical object had red electrical wires sticking out of it.

The office building was evacuated until 8:45 a.m., when the object was identified as a speaker. No office surrounding buildings were vacated as a result of the investigation, according to Sgt. John Hutchings of the Olympia Police Department.
