A 17-year-old Tumwater man recently was stung by a scorpion.

Kyle Holman, 17, was stung by a scorpion while staying at a local motel.

His mother, Wendy Holman, said workers at Providence St. Peter Hospital all came to see the critter. Holman was told it was the first such sting the hospital had dealt with in 37 years.

“At the hospital he was very famous that day,” she said.
