Someone removed the end caps from several fire hydrants early Tuesday morning, causing water to spew onto several blocks of 20th Avenue Northeast.
Thurston County deputies responded to a call by Lacey firefighters at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday and found open fire hydrants at 20th and Friendly Grove Road and in the 2300 block of 20th Avenue Northeast. Firefighters were able to turn off the hydrants, and there was no damage.
The end caps were valued at about $200, Thurston County sheriff’s Lt. Chris Mealy said today.
