TACOMA - On his 24th birthday, Tacoma Rainiers catcher Jeff Clement blew out the Sacramento River Cats with six RBIs, including a first-inning grand slam.
With the 11-4 win Monday at home, the Rainiers took three of four from the River Cats. The Portland Beavers come to Tacoma for a five-game series beginning today at 7:05 p.m.
Brad Thomas (7-6) got the win, pitching two innings in relief of starter Justin Lehr. Thomas walked three but did not allow a hit nor run in his outing.
Lehr gave up six hits and two earned runs over four innings.
Juan Done got his first save for the Rainiers, allowing two earned runs over three innings.
Brad Knox (9-7) got the loss for Sacramento.
