Roy man killed in accident near Spanaway

A Roy man was killed following an accident on State Route 507 in the Spanaway area Tuesday night, a Washington State Patrol memo said.

Erick M. Loomis, 39, was driving southbound near on State Route 507 near State Route 7 at about 9:40 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway to the right and broadsided a power pole.

His 35-year-old passenger, from Centralia, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for her injuries.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

The roadway was closed for just over two hours following the accident.
