Olympia Police detectives hope someone will recognize two women seen on video surveillance leaving a local store after using a credit card stolen from a locker at the Briggs Community YMCA last week, Det. Brenda Anderson said today.
Police say three thefts in the women's locker room at the YMCA at 1530 Yelm Highway S.E. were reported last week. After the lockers were broken into, thieves used the keys to steal the victims' cars.
Some of the cars also contained the victims' purses which held credit cards.
The thefts happened about 3:30 p.m. April 16, 3:45 p.m. Monday and 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Olympia Police spokesman Dick Machlan said.
Police think the thieves used alarm units activated by keychains to locate the vehicles.
