I-5 traffic jam at Fort Lewis gate

FORT LEWIS -- Three left lanes of Interstate 5 southbound near Milepost 120 at the Fort Lewis main gate are closed due to a traffic accident, the state Department of Transportation reported.

Police are directing drivers through the area using the right lane, but delays are expected until about noon.

The accident happened at about 9:05 a.m., when a vehicle spun out, according to the transportation department. The Washington State Patrol is responding. Check back for more information.
