I'm interested in hearing from readers -- whether it's a weird bird flying around their backyard to the big fish that broke them off over the weekend to skiing down a favorite run. callen@theolympian.com.
The popular 5.5 mile Brown Farm Dike Trail at Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge will be completely open from Saturday through Oct. 10.
The trail will open again on Oct. 16 and 17. The refuge’s estuary restoration project kept a portion of this trail closed since early August. Three miles of the trail will be closed from Oct. 18 through Jan. 25. Eventually, this trail will be torn down as part of the estuary restoration, but a new trail — partially on a boardwalk — will be built.
