I'm interested in hearing from readers -- whether it's a weird bird flying around their backyard to the big fish that broke them off over the weekend to skiing down a favorite run. callen@theolympian.com.
Snowboarders have a big event -- and a chance to get into the U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships in Stratton, Vermont -- this weekend at the Summit at Snoqualmie.
Burton Snowboard's AM Series will be at Summit Central all weekend, and non-professionals can sign up for the halfpipe and slopestyle competitions. First place winners get into pre-qualifying for the U.S. Open.
Slopestyle is a mix of jumps and rail grinding, while halfpipe is all about riding a big, frozen wave of snow and doing tricks in the air.
Burton will also offer free swag and board demos all weekend.
