How did the OSD board vote on each of the amendments to the 2009-10 budget?

The Olympia School District has uploaded the podcast of Tuesday meeting, where they approved the 2009-10 budget, which added or restored about $168,000 in district programs.

This means that the district will dip about $974,000 into its reserves, leaving an ending fund balance of $5.1 million, or 6 percent.

You can listen to the discussion over the amendments. Some people might be interested in how each proposed amendment fare when it came down to decision time? The ones listed below in bold passed; the ones in regular text either were not proposed, voted down, or died for a lack of a second. Let's take a look:

- Restore health room paraeducators at high schools, expenditure of $20,000, passed unanimously

- Restore high school gymnastics, boys swimming and drill teams, expends $71,00 and earns $8,000 in revenue, passed unanimously

Restore the library department coordinator stipend, expenditure of $4,000. Passed unanimously.

- Change high school gymnastics to a cooperative sport, would have saved $6,000. Mark Campeau moved, no second.

- Eliminate proposed administration furloughs. Would have had expenditure of $51,000. Aye: Carolyn Barclift, Frank Wilson, Nay: Campeau, Allen Miller and Eileen Thomson.

- Eliminate board travel to the board conference, saves $3,000. Aye: Campeau, Miller, Thomson and Wilson. Nay: Barclift.

- Restoring full budget for Cispus overnight trip. $70,000. No one moved.

- Restoring full budget for Cispus overnight trip. $70,000, and starting committee to explore future options. Miller moved, no second.

- Restoring $35,000 of the budget for Cispus overnight trip, which would require fundraising of $35,000. Aye: Campeau, Miller. Nay: Barclift, Thomson and Wilson.

- Restoring the transportation for Lincoln Options bus route. $17,000. Passed unanimously

- Restore the elementary bus duty stipend. $16,000. Passed unanimously

- Eliminate K-3 Elementary music and P.E. specialists. $261,000. No one moved.

- Eliminate proposed district full-day kindergarten class. $40,000. No one moved.

- Eliminate proposed half-time district reading instructional specialist. $42,500. Miller moved, no second.

- Eliminate proposed middle school math instructional specialist/coach. $85,000. Miller moved, no second.

- Eliminate proposed high school reading instructional specialist/coach. $85,000. Miller moved, no second.

- Add half-time counselor at Avanti High School. $42,500. Passed unanimously.
