OLYMPIA – The Carnegie Group plans a campaign forum Monday for the two Olympia City Council races that are contested in the Aug. 18 primary.

The event is from 5:15 to 7:30 p.m. at Traditions Café and World Folk Art, 300 Fifth Ave. S.W., Olympia. Carnegie, a group focused on growth issues, plans a discussion of the candidates’ qualifications and questions from the moderator and audience.

Candidates accepting invitations included Position 4 hopefuls Karen Rodgers, Karen Veldheer and Amy Tousley, and Position 5 candidates Jeff Kingsbury, Stephen Buxbaum and Janine Gates, according to event spokeswoman E.L. Johnson. Position 4 is an open seat; Kingsbury holds the other seat.

Carnegie Group’s purpose is to “bring to public attention actual costs for growth,’’ according to Johnson. For details, call Bucks Fifth Avenue at 360-352-9301.
