Fans of Marvel characters will be able to see them perform during Marvel Universe Live, coming to Tacoma next week. Now in its second year, this is the first live-action show based on the Marvel characters.
The show will bring more than 25 characters to the stage in the story of the Cosmic Cube. Fans can expect to see Spider-Man, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hulk, Captain America and more.
As the story unfolds, the cube — once a source of ultimate power and one of the most feared and coveted treasures in the universe — has been shattered by Thor to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands. With the pieces scattered across the globe, Thor’s evil brother Loki devises a scheme to clone its powers, creating a threat that could not only decimate Earth but obliterate the universe, according to show promoters.
Feld Productions took two years to develop the arena show that includes motorcycle and vehicle chases, fight scenes, aerial stunts, more than 50 performers, video projections and more.
Among the crew is Stadium High School graduate and Tacoma resident Jen Rubin, working as the assistant company manager. She originally joined Feld Productions in 2004 as a skater in a Disney on Ice show. Also part of the crew is Josh Murillo of Yakima, who is the stunt captain.
In its first year, the show attracted more than 1.2 million fans as it visited more than 40 cities. Later this year, the tour will move overseas, including stops in Madrid, Stockholm, Oslo, Milan and London.
