What: This annual, family oriented fun run through Northwest Trek has routes that cover eight and five kilometers. Walkers are encouraged to participate. There will be a special race for children ages 3-11. Much of the event is on the facility's trail system.
When: Saturday. Race starts at 8:30 a.m.
Where: Northwest Trek
History: This is the 12th Run Wild.
Activities: Participants receive a free Northwest Trek pass good for the day. Prizes will be awarded after the race. There will be free refreshments at the finish. Participants can take the 50-minute tram tour of the 435-acre forest to view animals they don’t see during the run.
Getting there: Follow state Route 161 toward Eatonville. Northwest Trek is located 35 miles southeast of Tacoma.
Cost: $40 for runners and walkers. No charge for the kids dash.
Of note: Check-in begins at 7 a.m. The kids dash is at 10 a.m. Awards and prizes will be distributed at 10:30 a.m. No strollers, in-line skates, bicycles or pets are permitted. All proceeds go to Northwest Trek’s youth education programs. The entrance to Northwest Trek closes at 7:50 a.m. and late arrivals will not be admitted.
