  • PERSPECTIVE: Faith can come in many forms, even for nonbelievers

In 1985, the poet and Kentucky farmer Wendell Berry wrote a very brave book on the American race issue from the point of view of a white family that had once "owned" other people. It was his own family he was talking about. His interactions with African-American and white elders as a young man growing up in the post-Civil War South became the raw material of this book called "The Hidden Wound."

  • Program touts open dialog with teens

When I first met Lisa Smith Henderson, founder of Teens Talk Truth (www.teenstalktruth.com), I couldn't believe how direct her approach was to tackling the very challenging task of raising teens. No subject is too big to tackle, and she covers everything from alcohol and drugs, to suicide, cutting and sex. With more than 20 years as an on-air personality, Henderson combines her passion for interviewing with her experience as a mom to provide fantastic resources for parents of teens. A Mom Since 1988 (MS '88), she knows firsthand the trials and triumphs associated with parenting teens.
