The Internal Revenue Service says that refunds await 2,399 state taxpayers whose 2010 checks were returned because of address errors. The checks total $2.6 million, which works out to an average of $1,087.

This database from the IRS includes the names and locations of Washington taxpayers on the list. If your name appears, go to the the IRS Web site to track your refund. A taxpayer must submit his or her Social Security number, filing status and amount of refund shown on their 2009 return. The tool will provide the status of the refund and in some cases provide instructions on how to update your address and resolve delivery problems.
