Eight candidates are in the running for the Lacey city manager job, and an announcement on the finalists is expected this week, according to the mayor.
LACEY The Lacey City Council plans to meet behind closed doors several times this month as it searches for a city manager.

Lacey City Manager Greg Cuoio had set a soft goal to retire by the time he was 59. It might be one of the few goals Cuoio has set and not achieved in 24 years of running the city. Cuoio, 62, is set to retire Thursday, leaving behind a city that more than doubled in size to 43,000 residents during his tenure.
