Hop in the saddle and ride your bike on courses of 12, 30, 65 or 100 miles as you visit Seabeck, Port Gamble, Poulsbo, Keyport and other places in Kitsap County. The ride ends in Old Town Silverdale.
When: Sunday, start between 7:30 and 10:30 a.m.
Where: Silverdale Beach Hotel, 3073 N.W. Bucklin Hill Road, Silverdale
Getting there: From Highway 16, head north on Highway 3 in Bremerton. Take the Newberry Hill Road exit and continue on Silverdale Way. Turn right on Bucklin Hill Road and the hotel will be on your right.
Never miss a local story.
Of note: There will be refreshment stops along the route. There will not be a bike rodeo at the event this year. The Silverdale Beach Hotel will have a spaghetti dinner for riders Friday night. The course closes at 4 p.m. so organizers recommend an early start. Each route will be patrolled. The courses are marked.
“This is an excellent training ride for the Rapsody Ride,” said Bob Newbill, a Tour De Kitsap organizer. “However, it is not on the same roads.” For riders looking for a longer trip, the two-day, 170-mile Rapsody (Ride Around Puget Sound) Ride starts and finishes in Tacoma on Aug. 22-23.
