Some rare archival footage - and home movies - of three Kennedy generations will be presented as "Kennedys' Home Movies" on TLC tonight at 9.
TLC has assembled a vast trove of Kennedy footage, beginning with Joe Sr. and then moving through his children. The stock footage tracks a historic timeline – inauguration, assassination, Robert’s election as senator from New York, and so on – interspersed with some home movies. It’s narrated by Stockard Channing.
We are so deeply familiar with this clan – or are under the illusion that we are – that very little of this footage will seem surprising. People seem frozen in time at the happiest moments, in sharp contrast to the public grief that we also have shared. There is nothing that is negative or quarrelsome or unseemly, and yet it all feels so very sad.
