Northwest Convergence Zone (nwconvergencezone.com/wordpress/): Co-hosts Darrell Fortune, Justin Gimse and Voxxy Vallejo bring a who’s who of South Sound music to producer Double D’s garage, including the likes of Roman Holiday, Ben Union and Perry Acker on recent podcasts. Download through iTunes or tune in to the new, 24-hour broadcast Friday at www.nwczradio.com.
Go Juice Radio (www.gojuiceradio.com): This site has loads of regional hip-hop, R&B and pop loaded into its online player, such as EvergreenOne & Todd Sykes, Josh Rizeberg, Luck One and Lisa Dank. At 7 p.m. Wednesdays, Quincy “Q.Dot” Henry and Maurice Thornton bring in guests to talk about music and pop culture on Tre’dmarks Radio. And at 7 p.m. Thursdays, D. Money comes live from Central Washington University to showcase new tunes on Fresh Juice.
Rain City Radio (www.rainycityradio.com): At 6 p.m. on Fridays, hosts M. Cheezy, Fonzo and DJ Jay Dub spin tunes, bring in guests and put their comedic spin on topics that range from the No. 1 choking threat for kids (hot dogs, apparently) to Rihanna turning down Playboy (surprisingly, they lament this). “We don’t shy away from topics, and we don’t sugar-coat discussions,” reads their online manifesto. “We simply talk.”
Tacoma FM (www.tacoma.fm): This community station kicked off in 2004 in Brown’s Point. Local DJs spin unique content, and you can catch the Antique Sandwich Shop’s open mike from 7-10 p.m. Tuesdays.
