Homeowners can get tips on the most effective ways to remake their homes at the three-day Tacoma Remodeling Expo.
Exhibitors will show the latest examples of cabinetry, countertops, flooring, sun rooms, additions and energy-efficient windows, according to the show’s website.
The show starts Friday at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center in downtown Tacoma.

• Award-winning architect Matthew Coates of Coates Design Architects will talk about the green building techniques and energy saving systems that can be incorporated into projects, using the Ellis residence on Bainbridge Island as an example in “Leading the Way Toward a Sustainable Future” at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
• Melvin Baird, of A Better Crawl Inc. in Kitsap County, will discuss ways to fix flooding, mold, odors, rodents, heat loss and other problems that often plague vented, dirt crawl spaces in “Waterproofing Your Crawl Space for a Healthier Home” at 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
• Sara Lambert will discuss how the economy has changed home remodeling in “New Age of Remodeling” at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
