Who are they trying to kid? The folks at CBS have really stepped in it now.
I can't believe the new show "America's Greatest Dog" will be on for more than the debut episode. I watched it, and it was AWFUL. Not just bad, it stunk up the room!
I was sure after watching it that we'd hear it had been cancelled. But no, now I see that it was ranked No. 6 on the Nielsens ratings and that 9.53 million people watched it. The people and their dogs that CBS chose to put on the show are nowhere near the "greatest" dogs in America. I own some pretty awesome dogs (well, at least in my eyes), but I wouldn't say they were America's greatest. However, I do know some dogs here in Washington who are far more talented and who have much better manners and closer relationships with their owners than ANY of those canines on the show.
Even if the initial viewers tuned in just out of curiosity, I would be amazed if more than a handful of folks watch Episode 2 on Thursday. Surely America's dog-loving crowd has better sense than to watch a show that touts these 12 dog-owner pairs as anything that might resemble "America's Greatest Dog."
Did you watch it? What did you think?
