Timberline club hosts party for Berlin Wall anniversary

The Timberline High School German Club will host a celebration for the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the high school, 6120 Mullen Road S.E., Lacey.

The event will include a panel of former German residents who will share their experiences of living in Germany or being stationed there when the Berlin Wall fell, what it was like to live in a divided Germany, and the value of learning German now. Speakers will include Dan Perich of Intel Corporation; Kathy Stuart, retired from the U.S. Army; Eric Harvey, U.S. Army Inspector General; and Mathias Eichler, owner of einmaleins store in downtown Olympia.

The event is free.
