Be a mentor: Help a needy kid in your community by lending your time and bright presence. Have fun while being a positive influence. Background check required.

The people have the power: Provide outreach and information to low-income people who are dealing with social services.

Meet and greet: Have fun as you work at the ReStore greeting visitors and answering questions about recent projects. Be in a great atmosphere with great people.

Prairie maintenance: Spend your Tuesday in the great outdoors as you help maintain our pristine landscape. Remove invasive weeds and get a free lunch and new friends.

Tutor and teach: Share your expertise in reading and math as tutor a kid who needs special attention. Help with homework and projects.

Fight fires: Be an asset to your community as a volunteer firefighter. Special training and commitment is required, and you must fit guidelines.

Tags and toys: Donate your time filling out gift tags for a program that provides Christmas presents for needy kids. Good penmanship is appreciated.

A helpful visitor : Help a crisis clinic gain a foothold in the community by gaining connections with local businesses. Must have six hours a week.

History buffs wanted: Help the state library reach the modern age by indexing historical newspapers and entering them into a database. Computer skills preferred.

Specialize in information: Provide valuable information and answer visitor’s questions at a local county bureau. Must like meeting new people.

the Crisis Clinic of Thurston and Mason Counties needs Help staffing their hot lines. Hot line volunteers offer free, anonymous, confidential, and nonjudgmental crisis intervention over the phone 24 hours a day. Volunteers receive training.
