Pet of the Week: Betty Boop needs your help

• Published April 27, 2009

Betty Boop needs YOU! You might not guess it from my name, but I am a female cat who was found in an apartment complex. On February 28, 2009, at 12:19 p.m., tag number 60573 was issued to me. Guess who will be turning three soon. Me!

I eat well to keep my medium haired body healthy, to look good, to keep fit, and to stay active. People like me because my paws are dull and short so I do not scratch visitors or furniture. My brown, black, and gold fur is as soft as velvet and likes to be scratched. An infection caused the fluffy fur to be shaved from my tail so now it is skinny, but it still feels soft. You can imagine my pointy ears are as tall and sharp as a Saber tooth tiger’s tooth. The cartoon Betty Boop has dramatic black eyes. While my eyes are just as dramatic, they are yellowish gold in color.

When two young boys came to see me, I had a chance to run and explore for about three or four minutes. I would like you to know that catnip makes me as playful as a one year old. Inquisitive means curious and describes my personality. I am so energetic that I could outrun a cheetah.

I would love to have enough room to jump, leap, run, and jog. I would like to be an only cat with children to play with. Because of my tail infection, please don’t touch it until the injury heals. Again, Betty Boop, the female cat, needs YOU!
