Thurston County Fair home arts entries due

Those interested in entering the Thurston County Fair’s Home Arts competitions should get their entries ready.

Open Class Home Arts entries must arrive between 3 and 7 p.m. Monday in Heritage Hall at the Thurston County Fairgrounds. This entry time is for everyone who wishes to enter needle art, quilts, clothing, and fiber arts.

Enter Open Class Beverages from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and again July 27 in Heritage Hall. Submit Open Class Baked Goods, Food Preservation, and Honey entries from 3 to 7 p.m. July 27 in Heritage Hall.

No late entries will be accepted.

The Thurston County Fair runs from July 29 to Aug. 2 at the fairgrounds, 3054 Carpenter Road S.E., Lacey. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, $5 for youth 6-14, and free for those 5 and younger; family passes are $18.

Cire Entertainment presents comedy night with Nate Jackson: Doors open at 7:30 p.m., show starts at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Tyee Event Center, 5757 Littlerock Road, Tumwater. Fourth annual Tenino Wine & Music Festival: 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday at Tenino City Park. The two-day event features local bands and hand-selected wines. Free Waterfront Public Art Tours: 11 a.m. Saturdays through September. Tours leave from the bell in front of the Olympia Farmers Market, 700 Capitol Way N. The tours last about an hour and include information on “Triumph of the Vegetables,” “Motherhood,” “Tide Pool of Time,” “Kujira I,” “The Kiss” and “South Sound Map.” For details, call 360-709-2678.
